ATTENTION TO DETAIL: AMDE EVANS_

If you look close enough there is always a thread that ties us all together. At face value, manufacturing clothing and coaching basketball may not necessarily be intertwined. However, after spending some time with Amde Evans the Lead Assistant Coach at the University of Toronto it was easy to see that a deep passion for craft, local development and obsessive attention to detail cemented us together.

Amde was gracious enough to welcome us into his space and helped us to understand the pursuit of developing the next generation of talented basketball players in Toronto. He explained to us that an adopted mindset based on obsessive preparation, adaptability, attention to details and curiosity are cornerstones into his training and coaching. These are also integral ideas that shape what we do as well, which really helped to build a common connection between Amde’s pursuit and our own. It was incredibly rewarding to see this come to life as Amde worked with U of T basketball player Simeon Jeffers. It started with the two identifying techniques and strategies while reviewing past game tape and then continued into working through these details with refined training techniques on the court.

While spending time with these two throughout the day, it was impossible to not feel the passion they both had for the game. Every little detail matters; these are the factors that convert good to great. Amde and Simeon worked through the specifics in each drill and it became undeniable to see and feel the power of teamwork and an exchange of knowledge and ideas. Similarly to Amde we deeply believe that this exchange of ideas and skill through working together is integral to every passionate pursuit, whether that is coaching or clothing.
